Amy Coney Barret Confirmed To Supreme Court

Ruth Bader Ginsberg was a justice on the US Supreme Court since 1993. In her recent passing, President Donald Trump has elected a new Associate Justice, Amy Coney Barrett, 48. Barrett has been confirmed for the Supreme Court, here is a look into her background. 

A New Orleans native, Barrett was born on January 28th, 1972. She moved to Indiana after high school to study law at Notre Dame. She has been a law clerk, a first judge in the D.C circuit, a judge for Justice Antonin Scalia of the U.S. Supreme Court and became a teacher at Notre Dame. Her most recent career she worked in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago. She was raised Catholic and her religious views and ideals have carried with her to this day. Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination was confirmed on Monday, creating a 6-3 Conservative majority on the Court. She is President Trump’s third successful high court nomination.
